Lilly is Ready for Spring

Here in southwestern PA, the winters are not always the best.  We are halfway through February and I am so over winter!  I sit on the couch looking out the french doors dreaming of a better time.  The better time of spring & summer that is.

I want to frolick through the woods as we hike through the mountains, splash in the river or my pool and soak up the sun as I get my doggie tan on the deck.  These cold snowy/rainy days need to be gone!  Give me sunshine and 77!!!!!

I can only lay on the couch watching TV or chewing on a bone for so long.  If there is any chance of nice weather, my humans take me for a walk, but the roads have to be clear of salt, which isn’t always the case.  I have play dates and daycare, but it’s just not enough!  I need spring and summer and fun!!! AHHHH can time please move quicker here.

*End of doggie rant*

Lilly goes to Chick fil A

O boy O boy do I love me some Chick fil A!  I can’t even explain the excitement when my humans pull into the lot!  I start squirming and crying of pure happiness!  The closer we get to the window the happier I get.  I always hope Meredith is at the window.  She gives me treats and pets me!  What can I say I’m a pretty adorable dog.  Even if Meredith isn’t there, I still get a lot of attention, but Meredith gets my order right every time.

See, I’m allergic to chicken, so I don’t get the full Chick fil A experience, but I do get a milk bone or ice cream! Ah their ice cream!!!  It is heaven in a cup let me tell you..Which, I’m sure all of you know this, but as a dog, I don’t get to experience that.  My humans keep me on a pretty health diet of no human foods expect veggies and fruits, but when we go to Chick Fil A, I get to have the ice cream!!! Woof Woof it is every dogs dream!

Lilly Goes to the Vet

Like humans, doggies do not like going to the vet!  My parents tricked me last week and took me there!  We went to this new place called Green Hill Veterinarian.  I didn’t realize where I was until I started seeing some of the same people that I would see at my old vet.   At first I just thought O cool! I love Dr. Hill he is always so friendly and kind, but once they took me back in the room, I knew I wasn’t there just for a fun visit.

Dr. Hill got on the floor with me and let me go crazy and bark!  I may be at the vet, but he doesn’t treat it as something bad.  He plays with me the entire time.  Half the time I don’t realize what he is doing.  At one point I was so thirst from jumping around I was drinking water and he gave me a shot!  I didn’t see it come nor did I feel a thing.  I was glad he did a sneak attack, because otherwise I would have been scared.

I was scared when they were trying to clip my nails.  I hate..hate…HATE!!! It so much…So much so that I scratched my mommy and gave my daddy a black and blue nose.  They were trying to hold me, but I wasn’t having it.  It eventually came to an end and they got all my nails clipped.  I feel better now, but while it was happening I was one unhappy pup!

All in all the vet wasn’t so bad..I guess because I have a great doctor like Dr. Hill that takes great care of me!

Lilly Watches TV.

I always wondered why my humans watched the big screen with all these different colors (some I can’t see) and objects moving so quickly.  I find myself also stopping to watch every so often.  After about 5 minutes, I lose interest and decide to bark out the window or chew on some toys, but I come back to look at the amazing screen.

I love watching animated movies.  My humans have a TV in my bedroom, so while they are at work they put on Lilly’s playlist and I have hours upon hours of movies I can watch.  Mostly they are Disney movies, but there is also TED and some riding videos on there too.

I love watching motorcycles with my dad.  I can’t keep up with the bike.  It moves so fast.  I get super dizzy!!! With my mom, we watch more of the Disney, Nicholas Sparks, Hallmark type movies.  I love when there are animals in them.  It doesn’t have to be a dog.  I LOVE them all!!!!  The Life of PI is a great movie with animals in it.  It can keep my attention for a very long time in doggy terms.

With it being winter in Pennsylvania, now is a great time to catch up on some TV watching.  I’m doing as much of it as I can because once Spring comes, I’ll be out side!

Lilly Plays with a Puppy

One day, this tiny little thing came into my house.  I was so curious!  It had four legs and tail just like me, but boy was he little!  The first time I met my good friend Bodie he was roughly 5lbs.  I sniffed and I sniffed confused on how to play with him.  I’m a 60lb Pitbull he was the size of my toys.  We walked around in circles and he would walk under me both in amazement of each other.

After so long Bodie went home, but only to return a week later.  He seemed bigger to me and easier to play with, so this time around we pulled and tugged on a toy together.  It was such great fun to have someone play tug with me.  I went super easy on him because I knew I was a lot bigger.  After he left I was tired and sure ready for a nap.

A few weeks went by and I missed my new friend.  Last Friday night I received another visit from him.  This time he doubled in size!  Bodie was 20lbs!!!  It was so much fun tugging and pulling on different toys and running around batting at each other with our paws.  He growls and I growl…neither of us are scared.  We know we are just playing and having fun together.

It sure is nice to have a friend.  It doesn’t matter if they are big or small all pups are created equal!  We just want to love and play.

Lilly Goes to Kentucky

Wow! Have you ever been rocking climbing?  Well, I have.  My humans took me to Red River Gorge in Kentucky this past October.

The twist and turns through Daniel Boone’s National Forest while I hang ten out the window was a great way to start the weekend.  I would never have thought I was in for such an amazing time.

I know humans are the ones that rock climb, but I was so impressed by my mommy and daddy that I decided to scale a wall too!  Everyone held their breath in amazement and I think a little scared, but I was okay!  My daddy caught me as I came back down.

We went hiking on the trails where I got to sniff so many different scents.  Kentucky sure smells better than Pennsylvania does.  I also got to meet a few new friends along the way as we listened to blue grass music on the deck of Sky Bridge Station.  Sky Bridge Station is a restaurant that my parents love to go to.  They have all sorts of different hot dogs and good beer…That’s at least what my humans tell me.  They won’t let me eat any food from there sadly.

Did I mention I got to spend the weekend with my good friend Jaky?  She is a rescue from Puerto Rico!  I think I’m a little crazy for her, but she does a good job tolerating me…She usually glares at me and walks away, but I just follow her. I’m glad I am friends with her.

By the end of the weekend I sure was pooped.  I slept the 6.5 hours all the way home!  I can’t wait until my humans take me there again next fall.

Lilly Goes to Gettysburg

On August 8th, my parents took me on their anniversary trip to Gettysburg!  That was the longest drive I was on at that point in my life…3 whole hours!

We drove around the battle field and saw where so many soldiers lost their lives.  I wasn’t able to get out of the car, but I still got to see where Robert E. Lee commanded his Confederate soldiers and where Abraham Lincoln gave his famous Gettysburg Address.

We walked the streets past many museums.  The Jennie Wade House is one that I remember so well. She was the only civilian that was killed during the battle by a gun shot that went through the door and sadly hit her while she stood in the kitchen.

There is a shopping area where dogs are allowed to go into.  I was able to go into some of the shops with my humans!  They kept me close though because apparently there were many things I could break in there.

We went for some relaxation at Appalachian Brewing.  It was very enjoyable..I got out of the sun and got to meet more humans!  Next to the brewery was a picture of Abraham Lincoln.  For some reason my humans really wanted my picture with him…I swear they think I’m human or something!  I was a little unsure at first, but I put my face in this circle and watched my humans laugh.  I love making them happy!

The day was a lot of fun and it sure did tire me out.  I slept all the way home!  I love going on new adventures with my humans.

Hanging Ten

What dog doesn’t love hanging ten out the window as their parents drive?  I certainly love it!  The more into the country and mountains they go, the fresher the air.  I can’t get enough of the air blowing my ears all around.  It’s the best thing to do…as long as it’s warm enough.  Lately, with this cold weather my hanging ten hasn’t been happening as much.

While driving around our town of Greensburg, you may catch me every so often hanging out, but there are many cars and scary trucks!  I don’t know how I feel about them, so I tend to just rest my nose on the window and take in the air.  When we stop at a red light, I hang out and love looking at all the people stopped at the light with us.  So many of them are on their phones!  They better put those down when they start driving….I love when people wave and talk to me though.

As we approach the country mountainous air, I just can’t get enough of it!  The crisp air makes me go CRAZY!!!!  I love seeing the cows chewing away at the hay…but boy do the smell!  I don’t know what it is, but when we go by them the air just isn’t as crisp!

The dirt roads are my favorite!  I get so excited that I start whimpering as soon as we turn in Forbes State Forest.  The roads are like a roller coaster and you never know when you might see a deer…or even a bear!  Sometimes, daddy doesn’t miss a pot hole and I get muddy water in my face…That’s okay though!  I just love being out there.  Hanging ten sure is the best.  I bet humans wish they could be free in the wind likes us!

Lilly Goes to Lowe’s

Wow O wow did I enjoy myself…Between the people and the ride in the shopping cart, it was so much fun!  My humans took me to Lowe’s with them!  Who would have thought I would ever get to go into a place so big.

I helped them pick out flowers for the yard, grass seed since I make all these yellow spots in the yard and light bulbs!

I loved zipping up and down the aisles as I met people that wanted to pet me.  The workers gushed over the dog in the cart…yep that was me!!!  I got so much attention.  I want to go back more…Next time, I’m going to help my humans pick out doors for the house.  How exciting is that!

Lowes

It’s been a whole year!!!

Wow has time gone past so fast!  It has been a year since my humans have taken me home.  From the second my mommy and daddy held me, I knew I was in great hands.  I just never realized how much fun one pup could have in a year.

From the beginning my parents took me every where.  As I lay here dreaming back to all the fun we have had together I can’t help but wonder what fun I will have this upcoming year!

Over the past year we have gone to Ohioplye many times to hike and swim, to Nordstroms at Ross Park Mall…I got many funny looks there…I guess because I’m a Pitbull and not a Yorkie. Anyways, I’ve been to West Virginia, Maryland and Kentucky!  I got to spend the entire weekend in Kentucky rock climbing and hiking, but that is another story.  I’ve walked the streets where General Robert E. Lee fought during the Battle of Gettysburg and hung out at restaurants and breweries.  My humans gave me a bedroom all to myself while they are at work and sometimes I go to daycare.  I’ve had many visits to the dog park and play dates with my cousin and some friends.  My parents celebrated my birthday with a big party with presents, cake and balloons.  I got presents from Santa yesterday.

Boy, have I had a great life so far or what!  All I know is that I couldn’t be happier with my two humans.  They sure are great parents! Off to Petagogy I go to pick out some cool new toys to celebrate my day.
